The effects of anxiety on phobias in relation to gender
About: I chose to write this final research paper on the effects of anxiety on phobias in relation to gender. In this study, I aimed to discover whether females or males are more scared of blood, needles, dogs, sharks, high places and flying. My hypothesis predicted there was going to be a higher percentage of fear among females than males in each category. I also verified whether any of these fears is more common than the others. My second hypothesis was that the fear of heights would be the most prevalent among everyone and fear of dogs would be the least common. Participants were to indicate how fearful they are of these phobias. The idea of this was to illustrate whether there was a significant ranking of these specific fears. The last prediction was that people with higher levels of anxiety would have a greater amount of fear towards these phobias.
